About me

Hey, my name is Tyson, and welcome to my writing portfolio! I often joke that I’ve been living my life in overtime since 2006 when I was blown up by a mortar in Habbaniyah, Iraq. The mortar landed roughly 1-2 feet away from me and I narrowly escaped with my life as well as my legs. This event, along with almost 40 years of life has helped shape me into the person I am today.

After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps for almost 10 years, I came home to Texas and started flight-testing V-22 Ospreys for about a year — I then built and dismantled B-61 bombs for a few more — and ultimately became a project manager for a construction company (the family business).

A few years ago I started writing more often, as it’s quite cathartic for those who have been through traumatic events in their lives (which is most of us). Along the way, I started learning how to use my words more effectively. I am constantly learning about new and fascinating things. As Einstein said, “The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know.” It is this mindset that guides my life, as well as my writing.

When I’m not immersed in professional pursuits, I relish spending quality time with my beloved wife and our wonderful brood of three teenagers and an energetic 5-year-old. Life with them is an absolute adventure, with endless entertainment. I enjoy studying psychology — philosophy — spirituality, as well as many other topics. I enjoy meditation and am constantly seeking self-mastery in my life. I absolutely love to fish — play ice hockey — and just be in nature.

Furthermore, I find great fulfillment in supporting fellow veterans by facilitating their healing journey through shared experiences in hunting, fishing, and embracing the serenity of the great outdoors. I’ve traveled from British Columbia to Mexico and many places in between as a volunteer for events such as these.

As a writer, I am skilled in content writing, and each day working to become a better copywriter. There’s nothing more fulfilling professionally than seeing a business or non-profit organization benefit and ultimately help people based on something I wrote.

Whether it’s researching the latest trends in crypto or capturing the thrill of a hockey game, I bring a blend of enthusiasm and knowledge to every project I take on. I’m adept at immersing myself in any subject matter, ensuring that I provide well-informed and captivating content for my clients.

Thank you for taking the time to explore my work! I look forward to seeing if we can work together in the future!
